THOUGHT - READING 1
Scripture Reading - Job 21:27-28 KJV
27 Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
28 For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
In society we have heard the term “mind reading” and many people would classify this phenomenon anywhere from rare to impossible depending on the understanding of the individual. Although mind reading is practiced by those in occults and/or spiritualists we should not discount the larger picture of God’s design. We (ihlcc) will explain, ultimately as Christians we believe that God always knows the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Therefore building upon that foundation the question becomes do we as Children of God possess that same capability. The answer is did (or currently does) Jesus have the ability to “read the thoughts” of others in His presence? The correct answer is Yes, He did and Yes, He still does especially when He is engaged with them. Since Jesus could do it as a man upon the earth we as Christians upon the earth have the same Holy Spirit which empowers us to operate on this higher spiritual level. The reason we (ihlcc) chose to use this Old Testament verse, written in one of the oldest books of the bible, is to highlight that “thought reading” was practiced by the godly saints even before Christ physically came to the earth. Before there was a Jewish nation “thought reading” was taking place in people like Job. Job knew the thoughts of his visitors that were supposed to be comforting him when no comfort was being presented to him at first. This inside information helped Job deal (deliberate) with his guest, or at least understand where they were coming from. As Christians we should never claim to be mind readers because the majority of things (thoughts, pictures, dreams, etc…) that come to your mind are no one else’s business but yours and Gods. Yes, some thoughts from the devil are not even your business nor God’s pleasure.-Refer to article “Thought - Rejection” Since the case can be made that mind reading is not widely accepted due to the vastness of content, in contrast “thought reading” is practiced commonly among both the Christian and non-Christian. Yes, our faith friend, “thought reading” is practiced among all mankind because man is a speaking spirit. Right now (on earth) and in the future (later in Heaven) your spiritual being will communicate via spiritual words and pictures, hence the term “thought”. “Thought reading” is nothing more than hearing spiritually what the spirit of the other person is speaking. If you would like to know what someone is thinking inwardly (spiritually) you should be able to hear the spiritual words that are directed toward you whether they move their lips or not. This only works if you are open for the other person’s words and you believe in your heart that when you are in the presence of another you will know their thoughts (understand their heart). We (ihlcc) never practice this aimlessly but always with purpose and compassion. If we are trying to help people in the manner which God has created (and groomed) us our spirit man will be very active in inward communication because we desperately want (desire) to understand our fellow man in the light of God’s Love. Amen!
